About Child and Family Psychology

Childhood development in the first five years alone is immense and moves at a great pace with children moving quickly from one developmental stage to another. Thankfully, moving through these stages mostly runs smoothly and parents and children progress together without too much bother.  However, all parents experience worries on the parenthood journey, and this is normal. These worries may be resolved at the time or sometimes we might get ‘stuck’ with a worry that just doesn’t seem to go away. A Clinical Psychologist will take a detailed developmental history and hear about the worries or the situation that feels stuck.  They have an in depth understanding of child and family development.  Clinical Psychologists are interested in how families come together and work as a family.
